3D2N ROAD TRIP TO PORT DICKSON!
If you’re thinking of where to head to for a long weekend.. Port Dickson might be the choice! (Note this is only recommended if you want to just chill and relax. So dont expect the place to have tons of activities to keep you entertained).
I was contemplating between the Avis Water Chalet which we used to frequent or the new Lexus Hibiscus whose “rooms” layout are like a.. well the name said it- Hibiscus. Both the hotel’s rooms are mainly situated on the Sea.
Before we start, here are some tips:
- It is advisable to drive your own car there as the place itself is not easily accessible. The only form of transport that heads there are either cars or coach buses.
- The resort is a stand-alone venue so if you wants to do other things instead of staying in the resort the entire 3 days, you WILL have to drive out.
- Do not expect much activities other than chilling in your in-room swimming pool or the resort swimming pool. There are mini land games like archery etc too but tbh, dont expect too much from it. We tried 1-2 water sports due to boredom but its nth fantastic and quite ex.
Hence, if you ask me if 3D2N is sufficient, I would say its GOOD ENOUGH.
Normally, it will take about a 4hrs drive to reach PD(Port Dickson) from SG. But, we were caught in a very bad custom jam so it was already 5PM when we officially reached the resort. We left house at around 7am? So it felt like its a loooongggggggg drive.
The first thing we reached were to just check in, get to our room and just RELAX.
Oh by the way, there are ONLY 2 different kind of rooms(if you dont count the suite rooms, I am talking about the normal rooms) for Lexis Hibiscus Resort. If you wish to go for the ones situated right above the sea, they only have an option of a 4pax room. Meaning if there are only 2 of you, you will still pay the same price as 4 people sharing a room and there will be 2 Queen-Size beds in the room.
They have those 2 pax with a bed kinda room too but they are located on the land together with the main lobby area.
People who usually heads to PD will want to experience those rooms that are right above the sea so it will defeat the purpose if you were to choose the normal room on the land right?
Yup, they have a buggy to drive you around the resort to your room for those situated on the sea!
But sometimes they took so long to come that we decided to walk ourselves instead lol.
Totally never regret going ahead to book this room!!!
Think I will just pay also even if there are just the 2 of us!
However, I think they can improve better by making sure that the in-room pool water is REALLY clean. There were fallen flowers/leaves in the pool.
There are only 2 locations in the resort where you can have your breakfast/lunch/dinner- The lighthouse or the main lobby. For the first night, we decided to have our dinner at the main lobby.
Settled down for an international buffet which cost about sgd30 per pax. Note there are discounts if you pay via citibank cc!
Likewise for dinner places, we get to choose 2 breakfast location (inclusive) at either the lighthouse or the main lobby area. We decided to head to lighthouse for today and the main lobby the next day.
After which, its to the BEACH. But, there is nothing much there other than just chilling so Thye and I decided to give 1-2 watersports (note its not cheap but still affordable kind) a go.
We also chanced by the other activities in the resort and decided to give the helicopter ride a try! Thou its only a short 10mins circling the resort, its better than nothing since none of us had ride a helicopter before!
We also tried other in-house activity like archery etc just to kill time haha. Then, its just chilling at the resort main pool area before heading back to our room to chillax before heading out for dinner.
This time round, we tried the dinner venue at the light house. Its not bad actually, something like a semi fine dining western dinner. The view of the resort in the night were quite nice too.
Breakfast at the main lobby before checking out and heading back to SG. The breakfast at the main lobby were the “international buffet” kind while the breakfast at the lighthouse were the western ala carte like eggs benedicts kind. Both are inclusive in the free breakfast provided by the resort.
Overall, I wouldnt say its a very fantastic place but make do for a place to just chill and relax for a short getaway from the hustle and bustle of the city! If you want me to compare on activities to do, then The Canopi(another post here) wins hand down!
